Currently no CDMA phones in North America use SIMs. The flavor of CDMA used on this continent was designed to be backward compatible with the ESN/MIN interface of the old AMPS system, to facilitate seamless roaming. It also has a lot to do with the handset subsidy system that carriers here operate under.

You WILL find CDMA phones that use R-UIM cards (similar to SIM cards) in South Korea and a couple other Asian countries that use CDMA.

Why do you think you need a SIM card slot in a Verizon phone? SIM's are exclusive to GSM technology (well, and some Nextel/iDen devices).
