I wish my office would stop using the term "low-hanging fruit." It sounds pornographic to me, and I can never keep a straight face when I hear someone say that in a meeting.

I use that phrase all the time, and that never once occurred to me...until now.

Thanks.

I was told once that the "iced tea" part of the name is because they look so much like regular iced tea. I believe it; it does.

I assume the "Long Island" part is because they were invented or first served somewhere on Long Island in New York.

Second question: that's an awful lot of alcohol...

It does look so innocently deceptive kathryn.

and yes, it is. my parents were not pleased.

Why is it that people refuse to understand the simplest of things?

I love long island ice teas! I thought the iced tea part of it came from the fact that all the random liquor in a long island iced tea makes it taste just like iced tea. That's what it just tastes like to me.

Haha, I've had my own exerience with a ton of those, they sneak up on you and are very deceptive!

Wirelessly posted

When you're busy and you reject a call after 1-3 rings why do people almost ALWAYS call you back again straight
after? Rejecting a communication channel goes down as the ultimate insult. Ignoring it alltogether is perceived to be a more polite approach.

Yes I'm busy, yes I'm in the middle of a freaking meeting, yes I got your number from the CID, yes I'll ring you back in 5, sheesh

I will never understand the need for a customer service rep to lie. just say you're going to make porting the phone number as difficult as possible up front. that way nobody gets their panties in a bunch and we can all plan accordingly.

Porting a number should take between a couple minutes to a couple hours at most. Sometimes due to glitches it will take longer or up to a week. I've had issues with it before but most of the time it's very smooth.

Edit: What happened in your situation?
