Due to my latest promotion, I have found myself making a lot of presentations in the office and traveling to other offices. I'm tired of taking my laptop with me just to do these presentations, because I use my blackberry for internet and everything else. I saw a guy who did his presentation with just his phone, so I was wondering if there is a way to use my blackberry with overheads. I googled it and found a blackberry presenter. I'm definitely looking for other options though before I purchase anything. Any ideas?

DO NOT purchase the BB presenter unless you will deliver vanilla, text only slides without animations or transitions.

Anything beyond that (at least with the current software) is embarrassingly slow. Even after I optimized the graphics, slide resolution, etc I still would not even consider using this thing for internal presentations. Forget about customer work.

I really hope RIM can improve the performance through software updates. They really failed on this otherwise.

The BB isn't really optimized or designed to do high quality presentations, yet. I am in the same boat as you and know exactly where you are coming from.

There are a couple of WM based phones that can do that, one was from HP. Not sure how good it is.

I use my netbook along with a thumb drive for most of the presentations I make (4 or 4 a month). My projector lets me use the thumb drive if I wish, bypassing the laptop. Seems to be working well for me and I don't have to trot out the larger laptop unless something goes haywire.

The other one you can try is the Impatica Showmate. I have evaluated both and actually found the BlackBerry Presenter to have a better response time when moving from slide to slide. The BB Presenter also uses the devices native keyboard shortcuts like 'P' for previous, 'N' for next, etc.

Thanks for the help guys, but I decided to just tough it out with my notebook for now since I couldn't find anything that would work quite like I need it to.
