Default 8700c on Tmobile?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm curious if anyone has used the 8700c on tMobile yet? If so, first and foremost, where did you get it?? Secondly, do the edge features work on our network? It is worth waiting for it on t mobile? I love the look, and though I love my 7290, this this is so great looking I cant wait to get my hands on it. Lemme know . . . .

I've been using my t-mobile SIM in an 8700c for over a month and it works great. Had some inital problems getting the browser service books but that works fine now too. Works with EDGE everywhere i've been that t-mobile has EDGE coverage.

Mine was given to me unlocked. Not sure if you'll have any luck getting it done through the normal channels.

I cingular had balls they would sell a bunch of unlocked units at an inflated price just to cut into TMO future sales.

I just picked up my 8700c this evening, and it came unlocked (because it works for both the att "blue" sim as well as the cingular "orange 64k" sim), to check if yours is unlocked:

With Cingular theme go to:
settings -> options > advanced options
-> sim card and type the letters 'm e p d'

That will show a list of the locks. They should all show "disabled" for an unlocked device

I have the same results as Nitty, Disabled for everything except Network. I take it my 8700r is "locked"?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Mine all say disabled but network says active and mine is cingular locked. I tried my tmo sim no luck.

Guess network active means locked.

When I go to Advanced Options/SIM Card, I don't get an option to type anything. All that is on my screen is:
SIM Card: Security Disabled
ID: (long series of numbers)
Phone Number: (my phone number)

What does this mean? Am I locked or unlocked? And why don't I show "Network," "Network Subset" etc?

Thanks!

So active means locked and inactive means unlocked.
