I went back to the store that I was going to get an 8800 from this morning only to find out that they had not gotten any to sale. I was told by a different person than last week that the 8800 would not be sold from the retail stores at all. All 8800 would be sold via their website starting this morning. Well, no 8800 on TMo's website this morning... I am going to move my service over to Cingular and get one of the 8800 through them. Man I hate I waited so long to be let down like this...

The 8800 is on T-Mobiles sites this morning. But only if you select the upgrade path.

I'm on verizon right now with a Treo and considering getting an 8800 on Tmobile. I'm moving to DC soon. Is there a forum on this site for talking about service providers or another site anyone knows of? Any of you have any problems with Tmo in Baltimore or DC? Thanks.

I got $349 with a 2 year upgrade. Still too pricey, if you ask me.

I got $349 today. I would do it but I would like to see the feature set of the next version .. whatever that is. I would love GPS and WiFi. But I don't need a camera. No device ever seems to have the exact configuration that I want.

I just looked at mine is $469 for a 2 year extension, what a rip. I went to Cingular this morning and moved my service. The phone was $349 and $15 more a month for the blackberry service than TMo. I am done with T-Mobile due to little headache.

I was going to say no.. but thinking about I am on my companies discount plan. So that may be it. It could also be that I have be a TMO customer for 5 years and have never upgraded my phone (through them) and I have not been under contract for about 3 years.

I wonder why people are getting different upgrade prices. I've been out of contract for almost 2 years - and haven't purchased a T-Mo phone (7100t) since Sept 04. Strange.

The error in pricing is just online with MyTmobile. If you are truly eligible for an upgrade, you will get the $349 price if you call Tmobile.

Thanks for the tip, guys. I just purchased at the $349.99 price point, and an extra $15 for express shipping.

so what is the "offical" story? are they just available online? or through customer care? It seems the retail people are very clueless. If i have to order it i would like to do it now but not if i can pick one up later this afternoon.

I ordered mine via dialing 611 from my phone.

What surprised me was, that I was even offered insurance on this phone. I didn't realize T-Mo had such for high end devices.

$5.99/month with a $110 deductible - which I politely declined.

Now watch me drop it in the toilet 8(

Default 8800 Ordered

Just placed my order, via telephone, for the TMO 8800. I was able to get the $349.99 price, but I had to upgrade the plan for my wife's line (I had just extended the service plan on my line in November to get a Pearl). Should arrive Thursday. Looking forward to GPS, as I'm taking the fam to Orlando in 2 weeks.

Ordered mine this morning through customer service. $349 with a two year extension to my contract. My sad little 7230 looks like it is about ready to cry on my desk knowing that the time of its demise is near.

I just called TMO and they quoted me $460+ a 2 year contract if I wanted the 8800 because I upgraded to the 8700 a year ago. Its a shame to be told that since I've been a customer of theirs since 2003. It would actually be cheaper for me to break contract and sign up with Cingular than to pay the quoted cost for an 8800 w/ TMO.
