is it safe to say that the 8703e is an american equaivalent to the 8707? aside from the obvious differences like gsm and cdma?

im pretty sure that the 7130e is the only 3g blackberry to exist in the us am i correct?

Well, CDMA equivalent -- we do use GSM in the US as well. That's basically correct. There may be some additional differences but it's probably more cost effective for RIM to keep models for different carriers as similar as possible (for development, production, and parts purposes anyway).
