the PIN is used for messaging from BlackBerry to BlackBerry. I have dozens of people that have my PIN, and nothing ill has happened. There is even a thread for sharing your PIN number here in this very forum. I think the worst that would happen would be that you get unsolicited messages.
Someone asked me for my PIN number. Should I give it to him? Can anything bad happen if someone finds it out?
... I guess its like giving someone your phone number or email address. Different people care different levels about privacy. You'll notice my PIN and Sith's PIN ...

No way to block the unsolicited messages as you can with e-mail?

not with PIN. you can block all PIN messages though. the PIN message is essentially the same as a text message but goes through data and from BB to BB.
naa, you can only reach it from a BB so it really is a limited number of people that can send to your PIN. and the PIN can chance any time when you change devices.
From my experience, If I deleted John Doe from my Blackberry, all the messages and my PIN is deleted from John Doe's Blackberry as well. In that respect, I think the PIN is more secure than an email address. You'll have to accept a re-add in order to allow them to message you again. Am I incorrect?
