I know there are rumor talks about MSN and RIM but a Nextel salesperson has advised that it is working on providing proprietary IM for the blackberry and hope to launch soon. Any confirmation of this would be super as NextelDirect salespeople are not the most informed. My hope is that if Nextel does come out with proprietary IM on the 7520's, it would be reliable and not buggy. I also hope it won;t incur an additional charge as Nextel customers pay the most.

I'm hoping this is true because Verichat and Webmessenger are giving me huge headaches when it comes to reliabilty (lost IM messages on Verichat and server instability on WebMessenger). IM+ deserves a good look however and just came out with version 2.1 yesterday.

Then again, Nextel people in general are kind of "not the most informed." I'm one, and don't know sh1t. = )

I haven't heard anything about IM, but it's going to be like any other Nextel rumor: i'll believe it when I see it.

I've been with Nextel for years and I've yet to find any Nextel rep that knows what they are talking about. As soon as I find a good Nextel-owned store, they hire idiots who screw it all up. The guy at our the repair center is *the only person* at Nextel that I trust. You just can't beat free incoming for business!
