I wonder how much of improvement it is over the last beta!

I'd love to get a hold of this!

the java and radio files are floating around on the net.

For now, it's only an OS on sold devices or updated by Desktop Manager, no download.

A couple of observations after loading this OS:

Had to delete several apps since I lost several items (mostly saved emails and memos) from the process.

The calendar default had to be reset and items moved back to the default calendar via the 'move' command from the calendar options menu.

Most troubling is that the internal GPS does not work with BB Maps as it did before. It *might* be a carrier issue here since VZW does not have this build available yet so it's probably not supported.

I had to disable the 'compress memory' option in the security settings since this really slowed down the device compressing and decompressing programs.

I'll be upgrading my 8330 to a Storm2 so I decided to load OS 5.0 on my 8330 temporarily to see what it looked like. The new GUI and the threaded SMS features are a nice upgrade.

updated VZW 8330 from 4.5.0.175 to this. It is sluggish. But I like new things. HAHA. Had some problems activating and such, but after a wipe it is cleaner. Still sluggish, but at least it lets u know its doing something. Most apps seem ok. Couldn't get quickpull lite to work.

i loaded this on my wife vzw 8330....at first it seemed sluggish, but after a battery pull, it is very responsive. I also removed Vlingo, since it isn't compatible for 5.0...that seemed to help too. the only negative i see so fare is lower memory...between 10-15mb free, but me having a 8130 pearl, that is PLENTY!

Just an FYI, after speaking to Vlingo support, I loaded the Vlingo version for the tour/bold which is 5.0 compatible. It works fine. But you have to go to the Vlingo website to get the OTA download. BB App world won't let you download that version for the curve.

I'm having trouble with this -
I downloaded the file
plugged in my BB
executed the 'Loader.exe' after removing the Vendor file,
and still.... not shit happened.
I have a Verizon Wireless 8330 BB that i'm trying to fix up to work with Boost Mobile.
Any help?

Do you have an 8330 or an 8330m?

Secondly, putting this OS on your device will not allow it to work with Boost Mobile.
