Default OS: 8800 4.5.0.203/4.5.0.140 (Multilanguage)

Please Login to Remove!

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.195 (Multilanguage)
Contains English, from TIM Italy.
This will load on any carrier's 8800 model by following the instructions below.

BlackBerry Handheld Software v 4.5.0.213 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.213
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.140
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.97
* File name: 8800M_PBr4.5.0_rel213_PL2.7.0.97_A4.5.0.140.exe
* File size: 88.57MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download the OS file here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...190CAAD5802983

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8800:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.

2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."

If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Previous OS can be found here:

Downloaded new platform on my 8800 and really liked the new interface, however, with my Bluetooth and the car when my Address Book transfers to the car it only transfers the phone numbers and not the names. I cannot search the phonebook in the car because it contains the numerics and no alphas. Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

If I want to upgrade my OS in Blackberry 8800 from 4.2 Ver to the latest one,does the upgradation process deletes all applications (Third Party) present in it?

No it won't, however I recommend you make a back-up just in case. The new install will not only re-install the third party aps, but your preferences as well.

Hello all -

This may not be the best place for this question, but is there ANY way to do an OS upgrade with the USB port not functioning? I've been able to rig up the USB cord previously (so long as I didn't breathe the wrong way!), but now there is no response at all. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated - thanks in advance!

Default Bluetooth problem

I found out... The only solution is to downgrade to 4.2 version. Some of the 8800's ( no body can tell which ones) cannot enable Bluetooth and the only solution is to downgrade the OS. What a pity. I loved 4.5

I have to chose bluetooth or 4.5...
think I'll chose bluetooth...
