Question Verizon OS update question

Please Login to Remove!

I'm still using OS 4.3 I know there have been several OS updates since 4.3 for the Curve (8330).

I recently checked the Verizon site and it looks like they are still pushing 4.3.

Any news on Verizon getting the updated OS and when?

Thanks (It's been a while since I've been in the BB forums)

Gary

No word when Verizon will release. However, you can get the latest 4.5 for the 8330 here:

And it works great on my Verizon 8330! Just follow the instructions and you'll be all set.

Are the video issues resolved? Will I be able to play vids from 4.3 on 4.5?

I have Smart BB installed on my machine and have been getting html email. Is that the primary difference in oS versions? If so, what might be another reason or advantage to moving to 4.5? In other words what do I have to gain?

Thanks Ladies and Gents for you thoughts,

I actually prefer the native HTML viewer in OS 4.5 compared to BB Smart.

Just keep checking the VZW BB download site and this forum. And yes, they don't announce BB OS updates (not that I've ever seen).

I have to say that in my experience VZW tends to release software updates to existing models around the same time they start selling new models. If memory serves me, they upgraded the OS on the 7250 to allow EVDO around the time the 7130 came out, and they definitely released an update for the Pearl when the Curve came out.

Not native RIM OS HTML.

You can use BBSmart and Empower with 4.2 or 4.3
