I have a strange battery issue with my 8830, not that I'm complaining....

Charged battery on Sunday, June 14 around 4 PM....Today is June 17, 3:30 PM...

Since I charged it, I have around 350 minutes talk time ad approximately 60 minutes browser time, lots of SMS, BB Messenger and E-Mails. When I go to Options/Status, battery shows 83% ?!?!?!

Also it takes about 10 hours for battery to charge from 30% to full....

No idea what or why, but I like it a lot

P.S. Got this 8830 unbranded from RIM as a out of warranty replacement ($125 CAD) for my broken 8830...

sounds like u got an extended battery or something inside of it. although, the 8800's always did have really good battery life.


what is the issue tho? you have great battery life...

This could be the result of a new tower addition in your area....or you've been using your device closer to a tower.

Very nice... and I'm about to buy myself a new battery.

Considering whether to get a normal one or the extended battery, not sure yet.

I get days out of a charge. Strange though, mine charges full very quickly. Are you using the usb or ac/dc charger? (oops, should have mentioned that I have an 8800 as my personal bberry)

Sorry for a late reply..

I drive OTR for living, and I just went to OK City and back to Toronto...4 days, never had to charge it. There were areas with little or no service, so new tower theory is out.
I used phone, SMS BB Messenger and Email (NO browser, Telus charges $3 per MB roaming!!!!)
Its not that I'm complaining, its just that I never had a phone that will hold a charge like this

Went online to pay my bill, and noticed something....
It used to be Blackberry 8830 World Edition, but now its different...
