Default need 8700g without Branding!

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I'm from Germany and I would like to get the Blackberry 8700g without any Branding. I didn't ever see any Blackberry without any Branding. Do they actually exist??

Please answer, because I need a Blackberry asap for work.

I do not think so. There has to be the branded .alx files on every device and I do not think they make a non-branded one.

Just another note: If what you're referring to is the carrier branding imprinted on the device's housing just below the screen, use the search feature of the forum to look for more info. There's been at least 1 topic where people have mentioned how they successfully removed the carrier logo from their .

There is an unlocked/unbranded 8700g in the classifieds that looks like it is a nice price. The unbranded ones are tough to find and when you do come across one they usually bring a premium.

Right -- if you're willing to pay for them, they're out there. I can't see the premium being worthwhile but YMMV, I guess.

Maybe I'm not getting it, but why would that be a problem as long as it works?

I guess it is just personal choice.

Someone likes to drive a Porsche and someone likes to drive a Honda. It should not be a problem as long as the car runs ok. (don't get me wrong, I am saying it just for an example)

Thanks for ur answers.
Jack T. Chance is right,
it is the carrier logo below the screen which i do not like to see everytime I use my phone (pda).
It is because i don't like any mobile phone providers
(espacially our german ones t-mobile and vodafone).
But do you really think that at least one of the tricks
really remove the carrier logo without leaving any mark (scratches)?
I think i would not try some of the tricks before I have watched a person
doing it in a movie to see that it really works well.
But i have another question: although I am German I got used with
the US keyboard. Who can advise me a dealer who gives me
an original unused 8700g with US keyboard which works in Germany for a fair price (naturally without any contract)??
Thanks for answer and sorry for the bad English!
greetings from Teh_Pwnerer

Many people on the 8100 discussion have used the "sugar cube" trick on their BB and have gotten great results. I am not one of them, but most of the people who have tried it seemed to love it. Just search for "sugar cube" and something should come up.

That will not work on an 8700.

Right -- have any of you bothered to look at the carrier logo on the 8700's? The logo sits under the clear plastic. I guess if you rub it enough with a sugar cube you'll haze up the plastic enough that it's unreadable but I don't think that's the OP's intent.

Just get a branded one through your carrier and pick up an unbranded housing on eBay (be aware that you may need a new keyboard in some cases).
