All the rumuors drifting through the internet about an October 26, 2009 release date for the 9700 are false. The stores don't even have dummy kits yet and customer service has not even been trained on the devices. I was told by our corporate sales rep that if it definitely will not be in the next 30 days....arrgghhhh

I passed on the info I was told and still believe it to be true. Clearly the OP believes his info as well. Neither one comes with a bankable guarantee. That's my point.

Who really knows the exact date....none of us do, just speculation. All I know is that it is impossible to be released next week if the stores have not even got any dummy units or information and the customer service reps at Rogers have not even received any training on it. This kind of coincides with what Rogers had told me last month, that the 9700 would not be released this year. Who really knows. My guess is late November into December.

Vodafone UK are allowing you to pre-order now with a published expected date of 28th Oct for the 9700 and 26th for the Storm2

I just hit my head on the desk and had a dream - the 9700 WILL be release 10/29 at 3:03 pm for people with the last name A-M and on 10/30 at 3:10 for people with the last name N-Z.

I confirmed this with MULTIPLE kiosk workers at the mall.

The article published in this thread FROM RIM, states "beginning of November".
So this is anywhere between the 1st Nov to the end of time.

Ive looked on the vodafone UK website and can only find the Storm 2 for pre-order.

Blackberry 9700 is released officially in the United Kingdom on 22nd October 2009 and Vodafone UK will start shipping to its customers by 28th October 2009.

See the screenshot from vodafone website confirming the pre-order for its subscribers.

I have ordered mine today and looking forward to play with it next week.

Assuming you are not from the UK, how do you plan to get it unlocked?? I ask because I am considering ordering as well.
