Why does my caller ID come up private to other cell phones and not my name or number?

Go to Phone > Options > General Options and check the "Restrict My Identity" parameter. If it is set to On, then your number will show as private.

I have a BB8800 and there is no "general options" in the menu. Any ideas where to find this?

Sorry, forgot your device is different. This is from the T-Mobile support site:

Enabling caller ID

To enable caller ID, perform the following steps:

1. At the Home screen, press the Menu key.


2. Scroll to the Call Log icon and click the trackball.


3. Press the Menu key.


4. Scroll to Options and click the trackball.


5. At General Options, click the trackball.


6. Scroll the Restrict My Identity and click the trackball.


7. Scroll to Off and click the trackball.


8. Press the Menu key.


9. Scroll to Save and click the trackball.

Yes there is, just as Jeremy described. If you don't see it, you are not looking in the correct place UNDER Phone Dialer > Options.

Thank you, I know know where to find this "general options" menu. It works fine.
