Default 8700c Icons from Cingular

Please Login to Remove!

Thought this might be of intrest:

http://supportcingular.atgnow.com/cn...s/KB53234.html

Seems to be missing quite a few, though I'm sure it will have the full 4.1 load.

I think the fact this page even exists is a hopeful sign...

Good find. I also noticed that they have an article on "Tethering the RIM Blackberry 8700c to Windows 2000 via USB cable." Further down in the instructions though, it refers to the 7100g.

Does anyone else think it is stupid to have a picture of another cell phone as the symbol for the phone?? Why not a picture of an old fashioned phone or old fashioned phone handset?? Design 101....

I suspect that will initially be the least of the complaints .

Great, so it's pretty much confirmed we (Cingular customers) get the ugly one. With an ugly theme to boot. Looks like I'll be waiting for an unlocked true black one to show up in the spring.

I actually think thats one of the best looking themes to date, to be honest. It looks like they hired the people who made the Orange France theme to do this one. The new BB Insight-Icon theme is really nice, in my opinion. The 8700 will feature something called 'Dimension' as one of its themes, although I'm not really sure what it looks like. Vodafone has also made a new theme for the 8700 series.

OK, well I never cared for the Orange theme at all. This one looks all washed out. What I dislike the most is that rather than making full-color icons, which would be a LOT easier to differentiate at a glance, they make all the icons out of the same three colors, more or less: shades of blue, orange, and white. Yeah, we get it, your colors are blue, orange, and white, the theme is blue, orange, and white...give me regular icons! Poor, poor usability design there.

I prefer a sharp, clear looking icon as opposed to something annimated looking.

The 7520 does have GPS (And PTT for that matter) along with the new 7100.. The nextel models have a different GPS reciever in them then most cell phones, it's an AGPS reciever that allows quicker tracking and things like that, it enables the use of programs like TeleNav and such. All of the nextel GPS enabled phones can run TeleNav (Even down to the old i88 and i58)

It doesn't really handle GPS any differently, theres a selection in menu options that reads "Location Based Services" and that's the GPS menu.. When a java app asks for GPS coordinates, you get a pop up to authorize it once or always authorize it.. That's about it...
