I have a Bold 9790 and just purchased a media card. How can I get it to use the card for storage - I can't see where the options are and it says I still have all the storage available. I've gone into different areas but there doesn't seem to be an option to specify storing on the card. Sorry if I'm being blonde.

What type of storage do you mean? If you're referring to media or photos, it should do it by default, but you can double-check in the camera app. If you're referring to app storage, then it's not possible.
