Default Blackberry took a soak, all night long baby!

Please Login to Remove!

My Blackberry fell from my bed into a glass of water and stayed there all night until I woke up! Anything you could suggest?

remove the battery and put the phone and battery in crystal cat litter or rice for a couple days.
Those items absorb water. As long as you don't short out the battery by trying to power it on while still wet you should be fine.

I washed mine 2 yrs ago (it was dirty) and took it out and I put that in a container like Tupperware and put the shopVac on the mouth of container and sucked moisture out. And then I let it for a while and sucked again. took me 3 hrs but I was able to restart my 8700 without any issues.
Rice works fine too.

PMSL!!! Epic title....

Have you got insurance? Does it cover water dmg? if not Im afraid you will probably need to buy another. If your really lucky you can try someones full battery on it and see if work. Try to wipe and reinstall your carrier OS and maybe your phone works. If it does play the lottery and post the numbers here

Chances are that it's done. But if the rice method didn't do it, try wrapping it in foil and putting it in the oven on very low temp for a few hrs (120 degrees max). Hope you got insurance though. Good luck.

And what exactly is the purpose of the foil?

IMHO the correct, and only, answer can be found in post #2.

You can't soak it or cook it out. It's dead, Jim.

Foil will isolate the heat and help it dry more thoroughly. It a last chance method. It's probably to far gone by now.
