Is there any way to recover a Gmail password stored in the E-mail Settings page?

Via my Bold, I can still successfully send and receive emails using my Gmail account. However, I do not remember the password, as the information is protected in asterisks and I set up this account quite a long time ago.

The Gmail website, including its Password Recovery page and form, have been of no help in recovering the password.

Something doesn't sound right here - maybe I'm missing something. If you lose your GMail password, and do the Password Recovery in Gmail, it requires you to change the password, thus making your BIS Gmail password wrong, which would stop the sending and receiving.

The Gmail Password Recovery gives you the opportunity to change your password without knowing your current password.

However, Gmail rejected the password recovery request even though I provided all the accurate background information.

Consequently, the current login information (username and login) is still valid, with the password known but to Gmail and my BB.

The BlackBerry is nothing more then an extension of Gmail... Once you verify credentials on the BlackBerry they are set. You can not change your GMail credentials from a Blackberry.

To change your GMail password you need to use the GMail website.. and answer the appropriate security questions, or send a new password to a secondary email account that you specified.

I am experiencing this exact same problem.

Is there any way to decipher the asteriks? Or potential to forward all incoming mails to another address?

only if you can log into gmail to setup the forwarding

It's designed so someone with a stolen BlackBerry cannot get access to the victim's other data, like a gmail account. Use a pc to change your GMail password, then you can log into the BIS page for your carrier and enter the new correct password.
