Default Slow 8330 after upgraded BES?

Please Login to Remove!

Shortly after upgrading our BES server to 5.0 SP1 for Exchange from a previous version of 5.0 our 8330 users started to complain about their phones going rather slow. Moving the trackball around it would skip icons no matter what they tried. On several phones we did a battery pull and that fixed the problem but less than a week later it started acting up again. Now many of our users are complaining about this issue. I have tried to upgrade the OS to 4.5.0.175 and that has no affect on the issue. We also do not allow these particular users to install any applications.

Today I noticed while playing with one of the phones the Bing icon that Verizon pushed on all of us was showing/hiding itself all on its own while navigating the Applications menu. Doing a battery pull fixed that issue again.

My question to you is if you have ever experienced these same issues? Do you have to do a daily/weekly battery pull? To many of our BB users just making calls and reading email is to much for them. Trying to instruct them to do a battery pull would possibly put them over the edge.

Not normal, try removing the Bing app and see what happens.

Well I found that I have had to delete the Bing service books in order to get the phone to work properly. Verizon has no permanent solution to fix this. :(
