How would knowing my carrier help you know whether you have an EDGE signal or not?

Default EDGE-less

I also have Cingular, and have no EDGE. I've been on GSM since about 6pm last night, and I'm in St. Louis, MO. Anyone know what's up?

Because I have T-Mobile, and knowing what carrier you have is extremely important. Since not having EDGE is normally a local issue, and less commonly a nationwide issue, the carrier is important.

I am on T-Mobile with full EDGE; you are on Cingular so what I have doesn't matter

Yeah, I can make calls, and receive SMS, but no data service. I'm on GSM service currently.

Have you tried calling Cingular? Also try turning the radio off then back on, see if that helps.

There have been network problems on Cingular since last Saturday.......And yes, the problem still exists, but it is intermittent. Expect a "fix" for this problem by the end of this weekend (as represented to me)

Don't bother rebooting, or trying any other remedies that come to mind, as that will not help the problem....Just be patient...

hope that helps...

Those stricken with this problem WILL have edge, however they will see some switching from GSM to EDGE and vice versa...Some will be stuck on GSM for a few minutes up to a few hours...but from what I have heard this is only about 20%...

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I haven't had any problems at all. I'm showing EDGE with 4 bars with Cingular in Tyler, TX.
