Well, the first two links are the 7130c, which is the GSM version of the 7130e, as far as I know, Verizon does not use GSM network, so the first two links do not apply here.

For the third link, thank you. I really want to know what kind of crack does the CNet people smoke, because I can't really see an Intel Chip in the photo, and I would love to let them point out.

As far as your statement "My source is google... the best source.", Google is the best search engine, but not the best source for citing, because anybody can post anything on the Internet these days, and citing without really knowing if it is legit, can really ruin your reputation.

With that said, thank you for pointing this out. It's really an eye opener. Still, I am still not convinced that VZW has a BlackBerry handheld that has an Intel Processor inside.

Can you run benchmark on 8703e and let us know what kind of score it gets? it will help us to compare the overall speedwise between 8700 and 8703.
more info about how todownload or run benchmark program:

I compared the benchmark scores for verizon 7250, verizon 7130e, and 8700C. I notice both 7250 and 7130e have almost same scores, but for 8700c, its 2X faster than both 7130e and 7250. My assumption that both 7250 and 7130e don't have intel chip, only qualcomm chipsets. Most likely, 8703e will continue using old qualcomm chipset from 7250 and 7130e and will be 50% slower than any GSM powered 8700s.

Any chance Verizon will offer a $29.99 BlackBerry Internet Service plan as Cingular does?

ok, so a few of us say Intel processors, a few say Qualcomm. Since I am not a Verizon customer (waiting on 8703e) and a Cingular 8700c user, I wanted to really know. Walk into Verizon, get a 7130e for a 15 day trial run (EvDO test and to open and verify chip).

It is indeed a Qualcomm chip and not an Intel. The fact that they stuck with the same chip in the 7250 is pretty interesting. More memory, yes, but the brain is the same? (note, I have not opened a 7250, but going on what has been reported). I know Qualcomm owns the license on CDMA, perhaps that is the reason to require it?

Data speed rocks, much better than EDGE. However it is definitely slower in responding to OS requests than my 8700c. Look the same, but not act the same

Maybe I'll wait for the US 3G version BB in November.

in all honesty, I dont expect to use my blackberry to play games in 3d, or to watch movies, or to even stream radio. As long as my blackberry is quick to the draw whn pulling up the calendar, switching to speakerphone, and writing notes then its ok by me. if its slow to answer a phone call, i.e. the OS needs to activate the phone (?) then we might have a problem..

hopefully the OS won't be that slow to mess with the phone functions, that would be very bad. I have used a friends 8700c which seemed pleasantly fast, and the 8700r, or the 8707r not sure about the exact model number the guy was from britain, but both worked very fast, unlike some windows 5.0 phones i have grown tired off for now.

called verizon wireless and nothing new to report, the customer service rep. said all she had in her system was an ad for it and that it was coming soon.

arrhhhh, is cingular and tmobile really that much more awful than verizon. my call quality is great i wouldn't want to lose that.

Im a bit of a noob when it comes to the BB, is there any reason Verizon doesn't offer BIS 29.99 data plan, does the one VZW offers for 44.99 better than the 29.99 plan and has all the features of it as well. i need email to come to my phone directly from gmail, without pressing send/receive im not on a sp2 server etc. I need the phone to get email directly, something like the sidekick 3 does nicely and 500 dollar windows 5.0 phone from VZW had trouble doing.
