On my Tour 9630 I would like just one screen where you have 18 icons, is there a theme for that or did I just not search enough?

This used to be common on the older devices, although if you wanted this now you would have to create a theme yourself, but you'd end up pressing the menu button on your 'homescreen' and going to basically what you were at before.

If you just want icons, from your homescreen, press the menu button and access all of your apps from there and lock the phone each time with that screen active.

As an aside, I'm not sure if your build of 5.0 is too new to use the theme I made and posted in that thread. If it behaves like the newer builds on my 9700, you'll end up with wallpaper you can't change. Otherwise, another member posted an option as well in there that would for sure work for you.
