Delighted to hear it! You confirmed that it works before I got a chance to respond. Since the 2.11 SecurID app works, maybe you'll want to check out the new 3.0 SecurID module for BB? Particularly if you are in a BES environment, you (or your Admin) really should evaluate the new security features offered by the 3.0 SecurID app. I'm biased, as I said, but I'd love to see someone here write an informed review of RSA's 3.0 BB module.

Vin, I would be more than happy to try, is there a OTA for 3.0? I noticed that from RSA's site you have to register to download. And to be honest it does not appear I have the proper credentials to register.

You don't need any particular credentials to register to download RSA SecurID 3.0. It just asks for basic name/address information and I don't think it does much, if any, checking of the information. But be warned that they might give you a sales call as I have gotten some sales calls in the past and I have nothing to do with our IT department.

I have a 8700 running 4.5.0.37. RSA app 2.11 wil not run so I installed ver 3.0 but I'm unable to import a token. I really like OS 4.5 and don't want to go back to 4.2, any ideas how to get it imported? I tried tokenpush via BES and via email but it will not open the attachment. Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge, RSA SecurID doesn't work with 4.5.37, but it does work with 4.5.52. I suggest you download the .52 and it should work fine. That's what I did.

Default Secure ID working on 4.5.0.51 Verizon 8330

I tried Secure id 3.0 and menu would not show up. I tried pushing the token and my berry rebooted. Every time I tried to launch secure id after that my berry would reboot. Took 3.0 off and used 2.1.1 with success.

I got it working on my 8330 running Secure ID 2.1.1. I was not able to get the menu choice to ever show "Import token" . I was able to get it working by using the Java PushToken initiated from the BES. I can confirm this is working. For those wondering here is the syntax from the BES

Java PushToken [email address] -p8080 -hxx.xx.xx.xx (address of your BES) d:\tokens\x-rimdevicebrubble.sdtid (token name)

So for a user named Barney Rubble with a BES ip of 192.168.1.1 at the bedrock.com domain with the token being stored on the BES in a folder called tokens:

From a command prompt on the BES
Java PushToken [email address] -h192.168.1.1 -p8080 d:\tokens\x-rimdevicebrubble.sdtid

**the token name that we standardize on is x-rimdeviceusername.sdtid

Good Luck. No support from me on the PushToken. It comes from RSA

Default SecurID App Working - but import of token failed :-(

Hey all,

since I switched from my 7290 to the 8310 I could not start the securID app. HOwever, with update to Firmware 4.5.0.55 and with SecurID 3.0 at least I can start the app.

Of course, it has no tokens installed by default. And that's where my luck seems to end:

When I try to "Import softtoken" (which I freshly exported in the ACE server), I get the error

"Token import failed. Invalid token. Contact your administrator."

The blackberry syslog (alt+LGLG) has no entries of it and I cannot figure out where the problem lies.

Has anyone experienced the same, and - maybe - found a solution?

Any hints greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure if this even matters, but one thing to note is that 3.0 uses 128-bit tokens only. It will not accept the standard 64-bit tokens that most people use. I'd recommend going with 2.11...works for me with .55.

To log into VPN...in the past we'd have to carry a hardware token key. Much more convenient on the BB.

Where can I get RSA SecurID 2.1.1?

RSA seems to have pulled that version from their website and is only offering 3.0 now.

I need to downgrade from 3.0 to 2.1.1 because I did not get 3.0 to run properly on an 8700 with OS 4.5.0.55 (no option to import token from an email attachment).

Thanks for any hints!

The downgrade to 2.1.1 was a success -- I was finally able to import the soft token from an email attachment.

However, a restart of the BB was required following the downgrade in order for the "import token" menu item to appear.

Good luck to everyone else having problems with SecurID and OS 4.5!

I wonder why RSA released the 3.0 version if all it does is cause trouble.

Strange...I had no luck with .55 with 2.11 and 3.0. Maybe I will downgrade again to verify.

Same problem with RSA and BB8310 here since Vodafone has upgraded the software on the BB to OS 4.5.0.37. Its not possible to import the token.
It shows in the attachment but will not install.
I am looking for BB version OS 4.5.0.52 b75. Anybody who can help me with a link?
Looked for software with Rim, in different countries with different providers but no succes. Also Googling for it didnt help.
Thanks !!

According to this thread (including my own experience) the combination of OS 4.5.0.52 as well as OS 4.5.0.55 with SecurID 2.1.1 was successful in some cases, whereas there are no positive reports about OS 4.0.5.37 working with either SecurID 2.1.1 or 3.0.

My advice would be to upgrade your 8310 to OS 4.5.0.52 and try SecurID 2.1.1. If it does not work, upgrade to 4.5.0.55 and try again.

You can find the link to OS 4.5.0.52 for the 8310 in the sticky thread for the 8300 series (go to "Latest OS: 8310 4.5.0.81 / 4.5.0.55 (MultiLanguage)", then click on the link after "To find previous versions of the OS for this device, click...")

Make sure to restart the BB after installing SecurID 2.1.1.

I'm running OS 4.5.0.77 on a 8330 with RSA 2.1.1, and cannot import a token. The option to import is there, but it seems to have no effect. Is anyone else having this problem with OS .77 and RSA 2.1.1?
