Unfortunately, BlackBerry devices are a massive status symbol in Nigeria, and very often people purchase them without knowing or being able to afford things like BlackBerry data plans. You'll notice the majority of the people from Nigeria that post here with problems have only low-end or old devices. It's a PITA really.
