Default 7130e Keypad Volume

Please Login to Remove!

I consider myself reasonably technologically adept but I cannot fathom how to mute the keypad volume so that there is no *beep* when I type in a phone number for a call. I cannot find any volume control option in Options or in the profile area that would affect this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default No way to mute 7130e keypad

I had the same question when I got the 7130e, and a few wasted hours, found out that there is no way to mute the keypad. To be honest, it has not been too bad so far. I just can't believe that it is not an option.

Thanks for the info. For a business-oriented phone, you'd think there would be an option to mute the keypad at least for the sake of discretion. Since I often find myself in a cubicle, it's somewhat annoying to announce to all around that I'm making a phone call with a beep for each digit I enter. If anyone has any thoughts about a work-around or any other suggestions, that'd be great.

A work around is to hold down the green send button from the phone screen which brings up your address book. Dial your number using the alt key. This gives you a number to "use once". Press send and off you go. Kind of a pain, but quiet...

Thanks for the info., pdone. I'll have to remember that from now on. I'm glad to know that at least there's some sort of work-around. Now, if only the OS would support MP3s...
