Honestly, you can go wrong with any of the one's you're looking out.

I'd narrow it down to the 645 or the JX10 though. Don't bother with the 640 since the 645 is better. The BT800 is BIG.
Thanks. I am searching back and forth through the net and this forum for just this information, but thought i'd give the question a try all the same.

There are quite a few owners of the 645 on howardforums and the jury seems to be out in terms of battery time (which they all report to be shorter than the 640) and the DSP which may not be as good as it might be.

I am familiar with Plantronics as I have one of their wired headsets right now. However, I am liking the jabra designs - esp the bt800 for that lcd screen. I am not sure if that's gimmick or useful but I sure like the thought of it. The JX10 is tops in design, but I am not sure it's all about design necessarily. Tough to get your hands on one of the BT800s here in Canada to actual see what it feels like on, etc.

man, I'm glad I read this - I've been using a couple of the Motorola's and they just don't have the volume I need. Driving a lot for my job, I find myself pressing in on the headset to get it tight against my ear so I can hear, and in an airport, forget it! You can't hear anything. I'm going to pick up one of the Jabra sets and give it a try. Thanks guys!

Well, I must admit now to leaning towards the Jabra JX10 after spending alot of time researching this thing to death. Has anyone bought through blueheadsets.com? They have a good deal, $114US including a free car charger, and I can pick up the Milante Torino leather headset case as well.

Thanks for any help.

I have not used them before. I purchased mine from Amazon.com for $119.99
and now they have lowered their price to $99.00 although it does not come with the car charger.

Default Returned my BT800 yesterday

FWIW --

I returned my Jabra yesterday. Nearly everyone I called said that my years-old Motorola had better sound quality. And I found the volume too low for much outside use.

I've ordered the new Plantronics 645. This was a tough call after all the good comments on the JX10, but I've had NO bad experience with Plantronics and a few negative ones with Jabra now.

I'll check back after I've used the new headset. Who knows ...

Well, I picked one up at Best Buy yesterday and so far so good (JX10). The price there is nuts, but they didn't match internet pricing, so I'm trying it and then returning it if I like it well enough and buying one from Amazon or somewhere else. I know it's a crappy way to do business, but heck, it's a lot of jack for a test drive...

Ok, I've had the JX10 for a couple of days now. Got it from Best Buy and just returned it. I love it, and am buying one online since Best Buy won't match any of the deals. The volume is great, works perfectly in every way. I'm very happy with it, can't wait for the one to show up via UPS next week now. Thanks for your help guys, hope this bit of info helps you, too...

Due to this thread, and the fact that I have been having some trouble hearing the H700 lately (its not the headset, I have horrible hearing, and think an internal ear bud might be the way to go), I decided to give hte JX-10 a shot. So far I have to say, I love the fit. I love the look. I love the size/weight. I am concerned about the earpiece, it has already flown off twice as I was removing the headset from its charger. However, the earpiece is also great in that it is adjustable. When I have the headset on, it is more comfortable than any BT I have tried, and that along with functionality is what ultimately counts. I'll report back on sound/voice quality when I have it charged up, but so far I give it a thumbs up.

Sound quality is great, I'll go ahead and officially eat my words now. I'm a convert.

My next step is to purchase the Scala bluetooth and see how that works.
That happened to me with a Plantronics M2500 and 2 7100t's.

What would you suggest as a good headset? I also wear glasses. I have my eye on a Motorola H500 because of the USB charging ability, but I have an issue with a burn on the back of my right ear that still isn't healed (LONG STORY).

I'll only recommed the JX10.

I use mine with sunglasses on all the time. Works fine.

I think some of the Motorola headsets look really cool, but I haven't found one yet that is loud enough for me(I think I'm partially deaf, too much headbangin' in my youth!).
I continue to be amazed by the Jabra JX-10, I can't believe something this small can work so well.
