Hi,

I purchased a 8900 off ebay and I'm quite surprised as to how bad the display is. It's HORRIBLE. Judging from the reviews I have seen on youtube the display is supposed to be quite good... as good as the 9700 as far as I am aware. I had a look at a friends 9700 today and the screen was much better -- does this mean I have received a "unoriginal" BB?

If you bought an 8900 it was previously used. If that is what you mean by unoriginal.

The 8900, while a great BB in its day, is several generations old now.

From what I have read the 8900 isn't that much different than the 9700. It doesn't have 3G, it has a trackball instead of a trackpad... but the display is supposed to be the same as the one used in the 9700 -- no?

Anyway, it would seem that the display isn't the original. It's horrible, pixelated, and it's not even the right size.

Thanks mate, I have already seen that. The ebayer has sold over 5k phones on ebay, so I think he must have just made a mistake. Arranging to return the item and get a refund.
