I think I've stumbled upon the reason streaming quotes are not working. You need to have access (eligibility) for streaming quotes. There are requirements for free streaming quotes (30+ trades/quarter) or additional monthly fees and you must sign a disclosure agreement. I'm not an active trader so this isn't worth it for me to pay extra ($14.95/mo).

Well that sucks. I don't do that much trading, but I do keep an eye on all of my accounts daily. I just installed it on my phone, so I'll see if I have the same problem as you.

This is not true. You should get the free streaming quotes regardless of how many trades you make. You can call them and ask. Something else is the issue here. Has always streamed perfectly for me on 4.3 Sprint.

Finally got it working, kind of forgot about it this week, but spoke with ETRADE yesterday. First, they had my go to options>security options>firewall>reset settings. After that did not correct the problem, I deleted the app, and did a battery pull. Reinstalled the app (for the 8th? time), and it worked from there. ETRADE tech support is very helpful FWIW. Thanks for the help.

gameboy is correct: free real time quotes are possible. You need to sign the real time quote agreement online and then it will become active on your phone. Worked for me

Flawlessly, no...

I have occasional problems where it won't connect right. However, once I'm connected, it works just fine. Including streaming quotes.

Try it and see. Just don't rely on this as your only way of trading stocks.

I called E*Trade tech support about this and they said OS 4.5 is not supported at this time. I decided not to switch back to 4.2 because I really like the OS 4.5 features so I can wait until it is available. Hopefully it won't be too long.

well, i've read all the posts, tried the download by emailing the jad to my phone as well as trying to get to the site through the browser. neither worked. i even changed my os from 4.5.0.99 to .102 as you have, with no luck. maybe i'll give etrade a call monday.

I have been trying for a number of weeks to get etrade working on the Bold with OS update 4.5. the problem seems to be the connection to the BES. I have tried it on Bold with no BES connection, it works fine. Connected to the BES, will not go past the second stage of installation.
("There was an error during download. Please restart the application and try again.")

If anyone has worked out what security settings are required on the BES to allow the download it would be very much appreciated.

I am about to sign up for an Etrade account but I am using latest 4.5.0.81 (108)/2.7.0.78 (T-mobile) release on my T-mobile 8320

Will Etrade applicition work on this OR do I have to

1) Install the application the way it is recommended on the posts due to 4.5 OS

And second

2) Do I have to pay extra for streaming quotes - I thought it is part of the package..and are the streaming quotes like updated in realtime or do I have to press a link or an icon to see updated data. I would like to know if the quote stream is like a live ticker info like used on applications on a desktop pc.

I would really appreciate your help on this.

And does anyone have a video demo of this app on how it operates (to see streaming quotes etc).
