Default Any trick on getting better discount on 8700C for Upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

My 7290 was purchased as a business customer, and when I just called Cingular, I was told that an upgrade to an 8700c would be $399 (for one year), or $369 for two year.

Is this the lowest cost that I would be able to get the device at? Curious as to whether there's a way to get further discounts or rebates for a business customer?

Default Work for a "big 4" accounting firm. . .

We are a Cingular Premier business account. We get pretty good discounts on all items related to cell phone plans.

I'm a life-long cingular subscriber. . . and this is my 3rd blackberry. . .

Dunno what info you desire, but I used the Premier website.

Just to clarify - you signed a 2 year contract (most, if not all, contracts on Premier site is 2 years)?

Thanks,

W.

Yes. I signed another 2 year contract. . .

There are free (with new activation) 8700's on http://www.buy.com, the last time I checked.

I heard that the Amazon way was the best way to go if you plan on getting a voice plan.

I can not take advantage of it because I don't plan on getting the voice services. At least not yet. So I have to pay the $350.00 for the unit. Can't find it cheaper anywhere else. Not ebay, not from someone selling theirs. It stinks.

I don't know if they will still do it but I got my 8700C from Cing and then cancelled within 4 days and all I had to pay was 299. later on I called them and asked them to take off 35 dollars for activation and they did it .. so literally I got this BB for 300 and paid 40$ for unlock and went to T-mo.

I am not exactly sure how to do an upgrade for cheap, but just realized something doing some math.

If I went to Cingular paid the $370.00 for the unit, and just got the data plan (like I was initially going to do) It will actually come out CHEAPER than going through amazon and getting the unit for free, and getting forced to get the $40.00 phone package (which I really didn't want) funny how they did that.

Hmmm....on my company's premier site it comes up as $314 if I just order the unit without changing my current plan. If I change voice plan and add unlimited bb service (which I already have on my account anyway) it drops the price to 264.

How did you get 199?
