I've got an 8100 device and I want to use the desktop manager to transfer e-mail messages created on my laptop to the device via the usb cable. I want do do this so that when I don't have wireless coverage for the laptop I can type a message up on the laptop, transfer to the device and send. Yes, I could type on the device but if its a long message the small keyboard is tedious. For short messages the 8100 keyboard is fine.

I've selected a personall folder to be reconciled by desktop manager thinking I could transfer e-mails from the laptop to device. The subfolder structure has been copied across but no e-mails have been copied across. I suspect the personal folder reconciliation is one way only, from device to desktop/laptop.

Is there anyway I configure desktop manager to transfer e-mail via usb cable from laptop to device ? Is there any other software or method which will do this ?

sorry I've actually got an 8800, not a 8100.
