Default Data Connection for 8100 and TomTom G920

Please Login to Remove!

I got a TomTom G920 and I am unable to set up my wireless data connection to the 8100 Pearl. It works great with the bluetooth connection and I can use the GPS unit as a handsfree/speaker phone. Sad part is it doesn't want to connect to the wireless data connection my 8100 provides; it doesn't go past 65% point during the set up phase. Has anyone else run accross this issue. Please help if you can...Thanks much.

I have had the same problem, apparently hands free calling is the only thing the pearl will support with the tomtom 920.

Find and load the 4.2.1.66 OS on your Pearl and it will support the data connections. This is the only known and proven version of the OS to work with the TomTom units.

You can find this version from TIM Italy on the BlackberryFAQ.com site here: BlackBerry Operating System Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ.com

I have never downloaded and installed a different OS. Will it be ok for me to use this OS even though it says Italy and I'm in the US?

If I remember, that release was very buggy.
