Default Os 4.5

I have an 8310 Curve running 4.2. I was considering upgrading now that AT&T has released 4.5 for the curve. What features will I be getting with 4.5? Just making sure it's worth it.

Lots. There are literally hundreds of threads detailing the OS 4.5 advantages.

HTML email, streaming vid, new views in calendar and address book, and lots I am forgetting.

With the few you stated sounds like it's worth it. Will all my applications (3rd party) automatically transfer over when the upgrade is complete. I have desktop 4.7. I've never done this before, but I believe I will be ok doing the upgrade myself.

Yes, they should restore perfectly.

For safety:
1. Do a complete DM backup first
2. Backup your third party apps first following the instructions in this thread:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-...arty-apps.html

Proceed with the instructions for the upgrade in the Sticky Thread for the 8310 model.

IF you have any registered or purchased apps, write down any license key or passwords first, as routinely some of those will need to reconnect and re-register (like Viigo, TeleNav, etc.).

Do the backup process from the FAQ for the third party applications. Generally if you can, downloading the apps again works better since sometimes there are new versions. But you may need the registration numbers again.
