Where do they sell torx screwdrivers for the 8700? Would home depot have them? I need to tighten a screw that's come loose..

Also what is the correct size/name of the tool I would need?

I would prefer to grab it from a retail store.. Any ideas? Thx!

It's called an alan wrench

...or any hardware store, including Wal-mart or Target will have torx/star sets. Just get a set (they are like $10 max) and use whichever ones fit.

Thanks! I tried an allen wrench set I have and it didn't fit.. Is torx a specific type of allen wrench?

Also I should ask.. What is going on is the case of my 8703e seems to be a tad loose on the trackwheel side.. If I push it it moves a bit.. Not a big deal but am curious what should be tightened? There isn't a screw on that side so I was wondering what everyones thoughts were? Thanks!

He was kidding about the alan wrench thing...

If you ask for a torx screwdriver or drill bit, you'll find them with no problem. Hardware stores, and the Walmart/Target genre will have them as well.

Got mine, it's a 6 size set, from Home Depot for around $7

Ha thanks I figured that out after I read it again. Anyway, anyone have any idea on what to tighten to fix the back part of my casing from being ever so slightly loose?

Not at all. An allen wrench looks like a polygon. A torx wrench looks like an asterisk or star.

If its for cellphones I recommend this website! It should be wihatools.com. Just look up wiha in google. These are the tools that my store uses. They work great, theres also an ESD safe tools which is something you might want to consider when opening up cellphones. The T6 screw driver is what you'll prob need to opening up most phones (or blackberry in this case).

If your looking for a cordless drill, look up milwalkee drill. They are awesome, but very expensive ($150 - $200) but they are amazing for opening up cellphones. They do not over torque, and the torque settings are awesome.

Go to Sears/KMart and use one off the shelf. Free

went to home depot.. bought a kit with a bunch of screwdrivers.. the t6 didn't seem to fit right/wouldn't turn.. returned it and went to verizon and borrowed theirs (didn't fix the problem either).. for future reference though, is it just t6 or is it like a mini-t6?

t6 or t7 is what you need.. can get it cheap on ebay i have seen or even at sear hard ware store. nokia uses this also

Dollar store. only worth a buck if you use it once or twice.

T6 has worked for me for everything from the 6230 to the 8700c.

Yikes -- that seems like overkill! Maybe if I can find a T6 bit I'll give it a shot with my Hilti...

If the back cover is loose, cut a business card down to fit, place it above the battery and then put the cover back on. Should be nice and tight.

I got mine at Sears for $1 or $2 bucks. It was just the T6. It fits my 8700 just fine.
