Actually it is not asking me to disable the shortcut. Any way to do it manually?

To install this update:
1. Download and install the latest version of Desktop Manager
2. Donwload this OS and install it to the PC.
3. Delete the vendor.xml file located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader (this step is necessary any time an OS is installed from a different carrier than what is branded on the BB.)
4. Plug in BB and open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.

I finally uploaded this to my site for people to use.. I don't know if my server is faster or not.. Here it is: Local North American Download Site

My Computer, Drive C, Program files, Common Files, Research in Motion, shared, loader files, select your OS folder, then just drag the new axl file in that folder and replace the existing one.

YOu should be all set!

After upgrading to this version from some flavor of 4.1, my custom SMS alert tone is no longer available. It has survived all previous updates without issue. Using the Media Manager from Blackberry Desktop the file, originally an .mp3, does seem to be present in the Ringtones folder but with a .mail extension. On the actual device (8700c) it does not show up in the list of available tones for phone ring, email, or sms. Using the browse function shows me the folder in which it is located, but does not show that it is there.

any ideas?

edit: of course, immediately upon posting this i decided to just try changing the extension back to .mp3 and VOILA! It now shows up and works as the alert tone. I hope this helps someone else.

I just installed this on my 8700c, and all works fine, except for one thing.

I use the Vodaphone Today theme, and I want the Settings page to be in list form, instead of icon layout. I had this on my earlier setup, but can't find where I configured it..

Thanks for any help

Sam

I'm going to give this a shot on lunch today. Hopefully this update will hold me over from switching to the 8800.

To clarify, I'll need the .exe that was originally posted, and the .alx file if I want all the current themes? Paste the .alx file over the old one and just plug in the BB and let it do its thing through the desktop manager?

Its been so long since I did this to get the Zen theme a ways back...

Yep, got that covered!

The install went fine, but I have a problem similar to sdetweil's. I use the Zen theme, and previously when I would show all the applications, a list view would pop up instead of the icon view.

I can't find the option to change it to a list view and I also can't find the option to remove the name of the 5 applications on the "home" screen. Any help?
