I currently have my phone set up to have individual profiles for certain people like im sure most of you do as well...so everything works fine for everything such as ring tone...text message...email...but the bb messenger is set to the standard profile settings and I cant figure out why it wont connect to the person that i want it too...so i figured it might be a problem with messenger so i took them off my list and tried to add them...i sent a request but they never got it...but they sent me one right after it and i received it so i was thinking that maybe the two are related...if someone can help me please I would greatly appreciate it...im on sprint and have the curve

Both you guys delete the request. Battery pull and then send again. Make sure that you are adding by PIN and NOT email. Get their PIN (Menu>options>Status) and add it to the address book and then add each other. (Only one needs to send). I am presuming that both of your have BB data plans, yes?

i have done a battery pull and sent it again...i am adding the pin and not the email and it's not working...and yes both on data plans...i got the request they sent to me but they didnt get the one i sent to them

yes pulled battery and resent...and still nothing...i am not a newbie but not a veteran by any means but yes i do know that a battery pull can do wonders...there must be something else

yes i know like i said...i pulled both batteries...cleared both messengers...sent the request from my phone to theirs and it didnt work...then sent a request from their phone to mine and it went through just fine...so now that the contact is on bb messenger and the pin is in their address book area and this contact has an individual profile...it still does not recognize that this contact is part of this profile...everything else works just fine...ring tones...text messages...everything...not bb messenger..is it because they are on tmobile running 4.5 os and im on sprint and still have yet to upgrade to 4.5?

The different carriers/OS versions shouldn't have anything to do with it--I have not read of that being an issue for anyone else, so I believe that will lead to a dead end.

If the other device has added you as a contact, did it not add them as a contact on your BBM?

it still does not recognize that this contact is part of this profile...everything else works just fine

I don't understand what you are looking for here ^^...

I think maybe the OP has a specific notifier tone or such for this one person and that tone doesn't sound when this person uses BBM to contact him

I'm not entirely sure but I don't think the profile exceptions will work with BBM...

maybe it cant make a distinction...but that wouldn't make sense to me sense you can change the tone in a normal profile...but that could be right...thanks for everyone's input
