Default EMail Push...

Please Login to Remove!

So, I have looked around and I am not able to find this question addressed:

Is there any way to hold my emails from pushing while I am at my office/computer? I understand that I can disable data if I want to... but as soon as I enable it again, all the emails from the day come flooding into my handset.

Is there any way to keep emails from coming to my handset while I am stationary, then once I go remote... ONLY receive the emails that are sent from that point on? Otherwise, I get so many emails on my handset that I often lose the important ones in the pile.

Very interested in your knowledge on this one, thanks!!

Nope. BB doesn't work that way.

You could log onto BIS every time and turn off the forward to handheld option, but if you forget or screw it up, you are left email-less. That is generally not an optin for many users.

If you're on BIS, you're out of luck but if you're on a BES, you can disable email redirection to your device when the device is connected to your work computer. This setting is set in BlackBerry Desktop Manager or BlackBerry Manager/BAS.

If you have Desktop Manager, open Email Message Settings and select the Turn off email message redirection while my device is connected to my computer check box.

If you don't have Desktop Manager, make sure Device Manager is installed on your computer and ask your BES Admin to set the in-cradle setting for you in the BlackBerry Manager or BAS.

With this setting enabled, messages are filtered when you connect your BlackBerry to your computer. When you disconnect, messages you receive from that point forward are pushed to your device.

Before you leave the office move emails that you've already read from the inbox into another folder (I have dozens folders to organise my email including one marked "from the boss")

I understand BB only pushes from inbox but dunno whether that would work
