Default Ok on to Rhapsody.

After seeing somewhere someone mention messing around with the device drivers manually under Vista my Storm is now recognized and appears functional.
Why I actually needed to do this manually with version 4.7 of the DeviceManager installed is beyond me. Especially when it recognized my 8830 no problem.

...

Now with Rhapsody my device is recognized, authorized and I'm able to transfer tracks but playback always fails saying I do not have the rights to play the music?

I have Rhapsody To Go tracks running without issue on my Storm. I initially was using Napster To Go (since I have had a subscription with them for years). When I initially transferred Napster tracks to my Storm, I got the same kind of message you are getting about not having rights. My phone was still connected to my laptop when I got this error. But once I disconnected, the tracks played just fine.

Since then, I have cleared out all my Napster tracks. After every sync, I don't try playing any tracks on the Storm until I unplug it from my laptop.

Someone suggested not to attempt to drag n drop the songs but build a playlist then download all songs on that playlist as wma format then transfer the downloaded wma files to the Storm.

I'll try that the first chance I get.

I didn't think about that. Yeah, all my transfers have been via playlists I built in Rhapsody.

Also, just read this tip on Crackberry Forums: "if you are having problems authorizing rhapsody Turn off Mass Storage Mode before connecting and starting Rhapsody. Options -> Memory -> Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected (No or Prompt)."

You actually have to disable "Mass Storage Mode Support".
