Please Login to Remove!

Hi As the heading says.
Can I use mnotes to sync a 7100 with lotus notes.
We use mnotes to sync with lotus notes for palms and Pocket PCs and want the to be able to do the same with a blackberry 7100.
The reason Im asking is that we are looking at getting a few of these.
Also what operating system does it run on .

thanks

MJ

No, mNotes will not work with the Blackberry.
You need to use the Blackberry Desktop Manager to sync with Lotus Notes.

Blackberry Desktop Manager only runs on Windows

I have installed BDM but the only thing that I see sync'ing is the calendar, Address Book and Tasks. How can I get the email as well. I rather have it sent to me (but preserve the person(s) that sent me the email)?

E-mail does not sync. E-mail is forwarded wirelessly to your BlackBerry. There are several sticky thread and FAQs at the top of the General BlackBerry forum explaining the different methods for getting your e-mail.

thanks njblackberry. I have been reading them but it doesnt really explain / answer my question; when the email is forwarded, is the email sent by me or forwarded (smartly) and when I get is on the blackberry, it looks like it was sent from the original sender?

thanks peoples

BlackBerry Redirector. This is a special software program included on a CD included with BlackBerries, that you can install on your computer. You can run it on a home computer or office computer -- just leave the computer on 24 hours a day. The software will watch for new emails arriving in Microsoft Outlook and then automatically forward a copy of these emails to your BlackBerry. (No BES needed). But you must keep your computer running 24 hours a day to get copies of your email.

my guess is that i am going to use this but....

1. when installed redirector settings is disabled, something about cant see my mailbox on server (maybe vpn issue)
2. inbox on blackberry, when email comes in, will be be from me or the original person that sent email

1. Probably a VPN issue. I have never tried Desktop Redirector through a VPN

2. Once you get the redirector running, it will appear from the original person. It will be an exact copy of the original e-mail.

Thanks NJBlackBerry, I will try running it from the office on Monday. It showing up as the original is perfect. I have a desktop which wil act as my forwarder until they add me to the BES server (if they add me to the BES server)

This is a kick a$$ forum, thanks for everything, hopefully I will be able to help someone once I understand some stuff.

Well I am at work now and I am still getting the same message. It says that the Blackberry server is unavailable. I can see that since I am not on the blackberry server. However it does not let me do anything else and Redirector stay's greyed out. I am on Notes, I think I read somewhere that this does not work for Notes.

I was never able to get the redirector to work with Notes. Only Outlook.

Ditto to what alenzini said. I actually posted here a while back that I had read that the Desktop redirector/BWC combo won't work with Notes (I'm on v6.x and I couldn't get it to install).

Does your company use iNotes? You can set BWC to poll that and your computer doesn't have to be on (granted it's not true push but it's not bad). Or see if you can create a Notes Rule or Agent to forward your e-mail to your tmo.blackberry.net address (if your organization allows forwarding).

I'd still much rather use Outlook but my School says there are too many security and configuration issues. I'm not surprised, given their hiring policies.

Don't get me started on Notes. My company locked down the ability to forward email. The only way to access email is from a PC with a Notes ID.

Turns out, I found that we have a BES in Australia of all places. Amazing how fast it works.

Andy

P.S. It would be nice if mNotes worked. It is nice to be able to download the free/busy time.

i am working on getting the mail connector (from BWC) to forward my Notes mail. So far it is not working (I keep getting a red x popping up every so often). BWC is set up fine so I am trying that.

Keep you posted.
