Hello all so I currently have come across the latest 8700 device software which is 4.1.0.346 and to my surprise this thing comes with Zen, and Today as without having to do the Zen upgrade anymore. Here are a few screenshots of the new software at work. Unfortunatley I am unable to release this software until further notice. But once I am allowed I will post it. This upgrade is also a fix for those of you having problems with EDGE going to lower case all the time. It worked for me so far.





I aplogize for the small pictures but the bb screen software made it that small.

I got this software off a friend of mine who works for T-Mo. I am on T-mobile myself and he stated that this software is for T-Mobile only as of right now.

I'm confused. The latest software for the 8700 is release 466 4.1.0.351 the package you speak of has been released all ready by Dobson release 456 4.1.0.346

Hi Everyone, I just checked T-Mobile's web site for 8700G downloads and the latest version they show on the United States web site is v4.10.284 So where can I get this latest version from and is it okay to download it?

OK - mextel got the software from a friend.
T-Mobile does not have a new release on their web site.

To get the locations for two of the latest versions, go to thread #4 here check out the URLs that Figment has posted. They are for two newer versions.

So your telling me that I don't have to upgrade my software with T-Mo software, I can use 351 on T-Mo and all will be well? Or do I have to make changes. The reason I ask is, for example I have a motorola phone that I use as my personal phone, and if I upgrade to another carriers software, I loose all my carrier logo's, and settings.
Will this be an issue with the blackberry?

That should help you with the proper steps. Yes, you need to tweak other carrier OS's to work on your handheld, but if you follow the steps precisely, you should be good, and you won't lose your carrier specific items.
