Default Questions while upgrading

Please Login to Remove!

Hey everyone,

So ...I'm upgrading my OS on my 8310 and I'm kind of stuck. Can somebody explain what these are and if I should choose to install them?

BlackBerry MDS Runtime
BlackBerry S/MIME Support Package
DOD Root Certificates
Phone -> TTY Support

There searches on the message forum here aren't really turning up good detail.

Thanks a lot.

I don't load any of those in my OS upgrades.

If JSanders doesn't - then Norsemen isn't going to either! ; )

Thanks!

I actually finished installing and did install all of them ...but now it's acting funny. Well ...I'll reinstall on Monday ...it'll give me something fun to do.

I had the same questions. The MDS and S/MIME are only relevant to BES or Corporate/Enterprise BB software, not the common BIS. The DOD cert really are apparently for Department of Defense, and it doesn't do much either way, but it flags things in a way that could save us time IF we were seaching a military sponsored site. The TTY is related to hard of hearing stuff, something about a different way to energize the voice coil. If your aren't using a hearing aide, you wouldn't have a reason to apply.

Like the man said, if you leave them off, no harm done.
