8320 out of a moving car.

Well my first unintentional durability test of the 8320 Curve Titanium went without a hitch.
I can only assume the door was still open when my brother called me out of no where, door flings wide open and flying goes my curve. Back popped out, battery and sim popped out as well. Put everything back in it's place, turned her back on and didn't miss a beat. Made a few calls, all is well. Only an unsightly gash just under the battery door and a few nicks on the corners where the rubber is, but THANK GOODNESS the screen made it out unharmed.
Curve and 25mph moving vehicle. Test passed.
(NOT RECOMMENDED)

Good to see even the new BBs are proving durable. Not sure RIM envisioned that particular scenario in their reliability testing, but good feedback!

Now that's a great sight!
To the OP....imagine the outcome if you'd have had it in a hard case like the one from Seidio. I've dropped mine already and on the way down it banged into a iron sofa table in my living room (not a 25mph moving car but enough to push a swear word out of me) and not even a scratch.

I think I have a better BB Recovery story...
After dinner at a fancy restaurant, I fell into the restaurant's koi pond. Yes, you read that right. All the way in. Holding my purse, which contained my then BB, an 8700. The fall knocked my purse outta my hand, and I actually had to swim a few strokes to recover it. Anyway...when I got back into the car, I pulled the battery door and separated all the removable parts. I left it in the car that way while I went to the closest clothing store to buy a new dress, put my hair up, and headed out to continue my night out. When I got home a few hours later, I placed everything on the top of my cable box and let the low heat dry everything out. Upon waking the next afternoon, I put everything back in to test. Booted up fine! It continued working flawlessly over the next 6 months when the Curve was released and I upgraded. Ahem, I use the term "upgraded" loosely. That water damaged 8700 'fish phone' was more solid than both memory-leaking curves i've had!

^^ That is an excellent story! Was alcohol to blame for your swim or were you pushed?

hah, great stories.
This reminds me of an old Nokia almost 8-9 years ago, I used to have on Voicestream. The phone would not charge at all. One day while driving between cities on the interstate, I called Customer Service to inquire about a replacement and got the "you send it in, we fix or replace and return it to you in two weeks" story. I said no, I need a phone in the interim. She said they could not do that.
I asked if my bill was paid up and in good standing, including my lost & replacement insurance, she said yes it was. I told her that after I hung up with her I would be tossing my phone out the window and would stop at the next Voicestream store to pick up a new one, which I did.

Once, while walking and talking (multitasking!) with my old 7100t, it escaped my grasp long enough to be:
1) Dropped- from approximately 6ft
2) Kicked- it caught me mid-stride
and
3) Slid- across an industrial parking lot...on its back (thank goodness)
It never even blinked. In fact it didn't drop the call, although the other party did ask if I had been in an accident...
one tough berry

Yes, I was pushed... by alcohol...to act like an idiot!
If my BB hadn't survived, I don't think I would think that incident was as funny as I do. The restaurant managment claim only 7 other people have fell in, in the 25 years its been there. I think that makes me pretty special

Since you knocked the Curve I wasn't going to like you ...but then I realized that you were hammered ...fell into a Koi pond ...had to swim to your purse ...AND DIDN'T EVEN CALL IT A NIGHT! You actually went and bought a new outfit so you could keep partying. You're ok in my book LOL

Well thank you. I wasn't going to like you because you have Gretz in a Rangers sweater, and I think he should be in an Edmonton or Kings jersey
Regarding the Curve, I do love it, and I wouldn't go back to the 8700, but it was nice not losing my call log and stuff!
