Default BIS vs. BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, I seem to be having a little bit of an issue here with a user that is using his personal BB to get work e-mails through BIS.

Now i understand this is our issue for allowing that access to begin with, and we will be disabling this, but before we do, i just need to make sure i'm prepared to discuss why all BBs should be going through the BES.

Besides all of the advantages i can think of (ease of administration, being able to sync more than e-mail, more secure communication between device and server, stuff like that), are there any more compelling reasons that a device should be on a BES?

Does BIS provide a secure tunnel like BES does? Are there any other reasons i should make sure not to forget in this discussion?

Thanks in advance!!

The most compeling one is that it gives you control over which devices are allowed to carry corporate information.

I would say in an environment where confidential information such as financial transactions, medical documentation, or law enforcement is transmitted, you would want it on the BES to enforce an IT Policy... especially in the medical arena. HIPAA is the REAL DEAL. Information must remain confidential.

BES = IT Policy.
BIS = You're screwed.

Pretty easy, huh?
