Ok, I have my account set up and the program is running. I found a few stations that I liked and added them to the cache list. When adding each station to the cache list, the program notified me that it would update the stations caches to my SD card upon connecting my phone to my PC's USB cord.

I attached it, and found slacker.synclauncher.exe and decided to launch it. When I click on the Refresh button, I get the following error:

Is this happening to anyone else? What do I do?

I have to admit the UI and sound quality are indeed a killer. It's a nice looking app but the UI runs sluggish on an 8320 Curve T-Mobile and the sound quality takes a hit when on the mobile EDGE network (Non-WiFi). EDGE usage also takes longer to queue songs and artist info.

I like the idea that it can play in background and cradled but I'm a little disappointed that the MUTE button on the top of the 8320 does not toggle pause/play (this is a no-brainer missing feature) and that it takes some careful time consuming navigation to kill sound quickly. Update I see that there are shortcut keys:

N = Next Song
SPACE = Play/Pause
H = Heart (Favorite Song)
B = Ban Song

Default Cached Stations

I've found the player to be much more responsive playing cached stations. And Slacker noted cache mode will be much less resource-intensive on the BB, and will minimize drain on your battery.

Only gotcha I've found so far in when adding additional cached stations. The sync tool seems to only take on the newly-added stations. So if I have two stations cached, try to add a new station, I'll only see the new station after syncing. My current work-around is to un-cache all stations, run the sync program, reselect all stations to cache, then sync a second time.

Has anyone else been able to incrementally add cached stations successfully?

Try to run it without adding to cache list

You need to edit permissions for Slacker and allow Media Access.

On my 8100 it seems to sync all my stations (all two of them); I just had a hard time getting it to actually add the second station...it took three tries.

The thing I'm trying to find out is how to find and stations via the BB that are not in their public list of 100 or so (which are really just genres anyway).

How does the program work for you if you are trying to control with a headset?

It works well if I connect the headset (or bluetooth) then start the app. If I connect a headset or BT while the app is open, I have to close it, then reopen.

EDIT: You asked about "control" with a headset. That does not work for me via wired or BT.

Yes I have the same issue.

Runs quick and smooth on mine. just annoying that when you get an audible text it wont continue playback without hitting pause again. But yes, I couldnt get on when I was BES and i deleted all the BES svc books and it gets right on. THere are no restrictions either so definately a prob on their end... I think at least...

Toyed with Slacker over the weekend on my 8320. Got it up and running. Cached 7 stations. I believe it does respond a little better with the cached stations, but then again maybe it's me. I'm also on the 7 day free trial and then if I like it, maybe a year sub for less than $45.00. Much cheaper than my XM subs. I'll come back in a week and let everyone know what else I have found out. So far so good.

Not as bad as any other app I have run. The switch from song to song is pretty quick.

I have also noticed that when I holster the phone while SR is playing, it will continue to play for 5-10 seconds then stop. Upon un-holstering, it will start up again.

Their TS is horrible. I am the BES admin and am in a blank policy and it will still not connect(firewall port issue i assume). When you are on BES the app defaults to that connection rather then letting you configure the connection like most other wireless apps. I can use wifi fine.

Hopefully they identify the issue and fix it.
