Default GPS troubles

I've been having problems with my GPS.. When i try to use Google Maps or my Poynt App, it says that GPS is temporarily unavailable and gives me really weird/bogus location.
I think this might have happened ever since I downloaded a new theme (Precision Zen with Today). Maybe it has nothing to do with my new theme. I am not sure, but is anyone else having problems with their Tour GPS as well?

Did you check the GPS settings? Options > Advanced Options > GPS > GPS Services should be Location On if you want those things to work.

Personal device or work. Our admins disabled the GPS locating service. It says it's on in the options, but it doesn't work.

If both of you have your GPS set to on, I would say yall have bad device. I am on Verizon and have had no problems with my GPS for any app. Including Poynt, Weatherbug, and BB Maps.

I also have had issues with my GPS with Poynt, Google Maps, and Amaze and have noticed that I have these problems when at work...deep inside the building. When I take my phone to the window, it all works fine. Strange that sometimes it works and other times it does not.

Maybe the upcoming software update will help in this regard??

Well that is reception problems with the satalites and your phone. I work in a building that can stand up to a cat 5 tornado and sometimes I can't connect. That is just plain physics between us here on earth and the equipment 10 thousand miles up in the sky.

No you should be fine. With Verizon you have a year after your 30 days. But you are going to get a refurb not a brand new out of the box. Just call customer service they will two day air you a replacement.

Ok try this. Go to options and then status. Once there type "test" on your keypad. That will bring up the self test program. Go down and only choose gps and then click test. A screen will come up and have some instructions. Basically you go outside and click the trackball and hit "start fixing". It will run its thing and give you some results. Here are mine...
GPS fixing succeeds!
Latitude: 29.97026
Longitude: -97.84785
Course: 0.0
Address Info: null
Speed: 0.0
Extra Info: Valid Location.
Time to get auto fix : 25424 ms
See what kind of results yall get and get back to us.

I had the same problems with mine. I did a software update and haven't had a problem since. I updated to OS 5.0.0.191, which is a beta. There are a few glitches still but the gps problem is gone.

The only issue I have had is geotagging in the camera (and that isn't a big deal, just playing with it)

It seems that geotagging only works when I have blackberry maps open and locating. Otherwise, nothing.

Damn, spoke to soon! it stopped working so i ran the test and it came back -timed out waiting for gps- i repeated the test in different locations and still no luck. battery pull and back to working. time to return it unless the rumored MR1 comes out soon and solves the problems.

Does that mean if I return my phone within 30 days I will get a NEW phone and not a refurb? I guess I am asking if it VZW policy to give a new phone if returned within 30 days and a refurb if after 30 days.

I am having charging problems and coming up on 3 weeks of ownership. If I'm going to swap it I want to do it when I am guaranteed to get a new phone and not a refurb if there is such a guarantee.

Yeah if you are within 30 days go into a store and get a new one. And from what they are saying on here you want the box with a green dot on it if at all possible. Those are supposed to be the ones that fixed the errors the first batches had. If one store does not have them I would go to any other one in town to make sure
