Sorry if this has been posted, but searching for threads about the clock returns too much noise to find this one.

I have the Bold charging cradle. Normal behavior for when the bold is placed in the cradle is for the clock to display. And about 95% of the time, that's exactly the behavior I get. But on certain occasions - and I haven't been able to determine what circumstance is causing this - the display just goes black instead of displaying the clock.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

The Bold may not be standing properly hence not charging and the screen dims as per usual.

Well, that's a nice guess...but...

This happens immediately upon my placing the device in the cradle, and not when the display times out. But I like your creative thinking...

Yea same thing happens to me. I think it has to do somethin with if phone is locked or unlocked before you place it to charge.
If its locked, and you put phone on charging cradle, clock should appear right away.
