guess what i just did and the quality is almost as good without any work needed as the speedracer one.

anyway id share this with you all, think of it as a late xmas gift... lol

1st u need to download this programme..

IPLAYER DOWNLOADER FROM:
http: // po-ru.com/ files/ipdl.exe

**SCROLL DOWN THE PAGE TILL YOU GET TO A HEADER:
Pre-built Windows GUI
Download from the link that says **ipdl.exe (Version 1.10)

ignore the rest about ruby etc. i just downloaded that and it worked

Just download... simple if you have windows its simple as download the instructions below are for other os's

then once you have downloaded go to
BBC iPlayer, copy the url and insert into iplayerdownloader and wait to download,

then just plug ur bbBold in and mass storage it and thats it...

I will try to explain.

This is the BBCiplayer

BBC iPlayer - Home

From here you can watch or download BBC TV programmes, there is also an option to download to a mobile device. Currently only available for the iphone and a few Nokia's.

Using the downloader from the site above (ipdl.exe) in the OP you can copy the URL of the programme you want to watch into the loader and it will download the programme as a .mov file to your pc. You then transfer it to your BB via USB cable.

I have downloaded several shows including Top Gear and the procedure is easy and the quality fantastic.

Unfortunately if you live outside the UK you would need to be behind a UK proxy to make it think you reside in the UK. ( I don'k know the ins and outs of how this would work)

I like it so thanks for posting.

It's a stand alone app unlike BBC Download Manager which must be installed. Curious to see how long the file lasts before any sort of DRM kicks in. With BBCDM I think it's 30 days.

Yeah, I tried this last night - (I am in the States), and it stopped me, saying that I must be in the UK. Bummer. My wife is British, and she likes to watch the BBC shows. See, we have BBCAmerica here on DirecTV, but it truly sux - the only British shows that get over here are the trashiest ones - think 'Jerry Springer'. Or HGTV-style crap.

Personally, I loves me some "The New Doctor Who". I could watch that all day.
