Default Terrible Picture Quality?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I have been trying the camera on Curve, and as far as I can see picture quality is terrible, and you can't see any detail at all.

As you can see from the sample image at:
Sample Image

You can't see any details what-so-ever, all details are (even ones that are in sunny areas) washed-out/blurred, e.g. people's faces, trees, etc are all blurred terribly.

I have a high-end digital SLR, and I definitely am not expecting regular/slr camera quality here, but don't you guys think this much of loss of details is too much? I tried in a few different settings, and I see the same result.

Hi kobari have you tried a variety of shots in different settings. There are limited settings options for the camera (in camera mode, click the BB button and choose options). They're very limited and wont come close to what you are used to with your DSLR (I have a DSLR also). Try a few controlled shots to see if you can produce something decient. I found that you so have to hold the 8300 very steady. But I would say overall that its just an average camera phone (i never expect much from camera phones)

However if the shot you posted is your standard then I would return it. Attached is an image I just snapped I would say this is pitty typical quality.

plus even the large and superfine images arent fantastic, but shrink them down to a reasonable resolution and you got yourself a pretty crystal clear picture.

My Flickr account is almost entirely made up of pictures I took with my Curve. While I don't think I'll be printing any of them -- the ability to capture these quickly and easily if great. The qualify seems ok to me..

Is it true that you can upload direct to a flickr account directly from your BB? In a sort of blog fashion

If you have a Flickr Pro account, you are given an email address that is linked to your account and whenever you snap a picture, you can have it uploaded without syncing to your computer.
