Exactly how is the O2 version better?

And does anyone think there will be a newer OS for the 8120 anytime soon? (It has been a while.)

I am currently running v4.5.0.174 (EastAsia) on my 8120 and having lots of problems with resets. I am trying to load up the O2 version and I can't get it to install. Desktop Manager doesn't see anything new when I plug in, AppLoader doesn't see anything to try it run that. Even tried uninstalling the O2 and installing TMobile 4.5.0.124 with no luck. Deleted vendor.xml on all attempts.

How do I force an upgrade?

It's simple :
First, you would need to unistall any versions you have on your DM, Then install the version you want. Your problem is , since your phone is seeing the same version it won't upgrade it.

Of course , remember to erase the vendor.xml before you proceed

2- Launch the app loader .
3- click on advance
4-Option
5-click everything.

You should have the new version once it's all set .

GOOD LUCK.

I wiped it and reloaded it. The O2 firmware has not rebooted on me yet and it's been a couple of days. I would get a reboot every 24-36 hours with the East Asia version.

Default I confirm

Had some issues, so I reloaded my os with the 02 version, it is much better than the other one with the same version number.

It's solid!

You people realize the OS is the exact same in both files? T-Mobile and O2 aren't modifying the code in any way, they don't even have access to the source code.

Really? I dunno, but mine runs sooo much better. The stability is much better. I know what you said makes sense, (developer/PM background), but maybe it was the way it was how the installer was compiled?

I'm sorry to dig up an old thread, but I was not sure where else to post this. I recently received a text from TMobile telling me that there was a new sw version for my 8120 with improved UMA. So I went ahead and updated my phone according to the TMo instructions on their website.

The problem I am having now is that the sound (when talking on the phone) is horrible. It sounds like I only hear the very high frequencies. Its like the mid and low frequencies are not reproduced.

I am certain that the sw upgade did this, as the sound was normal prior. Unfortunatley i do not know what version I had before the upgrade.

Has anyone else experienced this? is this a known problem with this or earlier sw versions? Is there anything I can do to improve the sound?

Thanks for any help you can provide...
