Default Nasty boyfriend

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

My ex-boyfriend bought our blackberry phones and did all the set up, etc a few months ago when we were together.

I have my hotmail sent to my blackberry and since we split he has somehow managed to get copies of my mails sent to his blackberry too. I've checked in hotmail and the forwarding is not happening there, so he must be doing it some other way.

Please can someone tell me how I can take control of my blackberry and stop him having access? I've read about BIS, etc and am wondering if I need to set up my own account or something?

Please help.

Jenny.

thanks for the quick reply. I have changed it - but I guess I won't know if it has done the trick. Should that be enough? Is there any way he can have set up something in BIS, BES, whatever, which could be sending him stuff from my Blackberry to his?

He probably used the Email Setup icon on his device to add your hotmail account to his device (which is why you won't see any forwarding when you log into the hotmail account on a PC). By changing the password, that would stop the email from going to his device - just make sure you update the password via the Email Setup icon on your device.

BTW, if he bought them and set them up, are they on the same account?

Thanks. Do I need to set up my device using BIS or whatever? I am worried he has some other kind of control/access to my device? Do most users need to have a BIS account/access?

Who is paying the bill - you or him? If him, he could have 'control' over it by screwing with your data plan (you need a BlackBerry data plan for it to work), or having it disconnected.

There is an Email Settings icon on your device, probably under the Setup folder..... can you find that?

Ok, when you click on the Email Settings icon, are you able to log into the account (you would have a BIS account login there.)

If you can't login, click Forgot Password and it will send your password to your hotmail account and you can retrieve it from your PC.

If you can login, edit the hotmail account information to reflect the new password.

And make sure that you change the BIS account password as well so the ex cannot log in there and make changes either.

On this note, change all of your passwords that he may know. If he is willing to add your email to see what you're up to, who knows what else he would do.

Best of luck.

It is a good thing you got the problem under control because things could have gotten nasty.

Well i have changed my hotmail password again to be sure.

I don't see any BIS icon in the Email Settings section - does that mean there is no BIS? Or maybe he has an icon/access and not me?

If at all possible, if u have the blackberry disc, run it on your computer, when the blackberry desktop appears- connect your phone depending on which OS u have, click on applications--it will take a minute to find all the aPps on your phone, then check to see what applications are actually on the phone...in the event he added other applications u may not want.
